We bought our Palisade December 2019 and it has been in the dealership service 5 times for both driver and passenger side wind noise. The service department has changed seals on both sides, adjusted window channels. All of these “fixes” have not changed the wind noise that we are hearing. The last time we took it in to service was March 17, 2020 and the service department said it was fixed. Husband picked it up and returned a few minutes later as problem was not resolved. Service kept it over night and the service manager was working on it. He took ours out and returned to the dealership where then he completely took off the mirrors, covered holes with tape and took it back out onto the interstate and found there was no noise. He also took a new Palisade off of the lot and took it out and same wind noise was replicated in new Palisade straight off of the lot. Service manage notated all that wind noise is significant with mirrors on and no noise with them taken off. Service manager opened a case file and so have we.
Fast forward to case manager discussion. She told us there is no defect and that there is no fix. Basically brushed us off and basically was telling us to live with it, deal with it and that Hyundai will not be looking for a fix. Husband was not satisfied with this answer as there definitely is a design flaw with the mirrors that they are causing wind turbulence and a noticeable noise within the cabin. He said for a brand new vehicle that is roughly $50,000, this should not be an issue.
Hyundai case manager has now passed us on to another case manager that looks into vehicle buy back and lemon laws. To me, I find it sad that Hyundai seems to be brushing numerous complaints of this wind noise aside and are now looking into buy backs.
As of now, I do NOT recommend Hyundai Palisade to anyone.
